FULVIO BIANCONI

Settled in Milan, he collaborates as a graphic designer and illustrator with the publishing houses Mondadori, Bombiani, Garzanti and frescoes the Galtrucco shops and the pavilions of the Trade Fair. In 1946 he repeatedly went to Murano to learn more about the glass art. Here he meets Paolo Venini who sensing the creative spirit of the young Bianconi invites him to collaborate in his glass factory. From this collaboration were born the Figures of the Commedia dell'Arte, the Tiepolos, the Fazzoletto, the Sirens, the Piebalds and many others.
New techniques of glassmaking art and reworking of the ancient ones were the subject of the creative research of Fulvio Bianconi.
By shaping movement and color in his glasses, Bianconi thus establishes a link with the history of Murano of great modernity.

PAOLO VENINI

In 1921 Paolo Venini, a Milanese lawyer with a distant family tradition in glass processing, founded Venini together with Giacomo Cappellin, an antique dealer.
In fact, he always worked alongside his designers and architects, with the constant aim of anticipating and orienting taste, checking every model that came out of his furnaces.
His safe aesthetic choices, combined with the great quality of the products, gave his glassworks considerable success with critics and the public. He himself devoted himself to design since the early 1930s: the Diamante glassware dates back to 1936 and, in collaboration with Carlo Scarpa, the Roman murrine.
Venini participated in all the Milan Triennials, the Venice Biennials and held its own exhibitions in all the countries of Europe and the United States.
