The Fēnix 5S has a smaller case and dial than the fēnix 3 series while maintaining the same resolution (218x218 px). The 1.1 "color chroma display and the 42mm case are suitable for the thinnest wrists or for those who love more discrete forms.

The new fēnix 5 series introduces new athletic condition indicators. TrainingStatus, based on the workload of the last activity, indicates whether the workout was productive or overloaded. TrainingLoad, based on post-workout oxygen consumption, measures the load level of the session.
The Fēnix 5S also features an advanced version of the Training Effect 2.0 Calculation, offering the athlete both the aerobic and anaerobic level on a color scale, 1 to 5, of the session just taken.
 
- Advanced physiological metrics
Physiological metrics are based on heart rate and, with only a compatible cardio-compatible band, fēnix 5S is able to provide the Stress Score, which measures heart rate variability based on a test and an historical outbreak. The values range from 1 to 100, where the lowest scores indicate the lowest stress levels. The Perfomance Condition, which after a 10-minute analysis during training, compares the condition in real time with the average fitness levels. The anaerobic Threshold through the step and heart rate analysis evaluates the threshold beyond which your muscles begin to accumulate lactate.

Using a compatible cardio-compatible band, fēnix 5S provides data for a detailed analysis of your fitness.
